OUR HISTORY

HighChem Industrials Africa is a subsidiary company of the HighChem Group of Companies. A local entity, of over 200 employees, situated on Mogadishu Road Industrial Area Nairobi. Our history is derived from the former Hoechst AG Co, whose presence was prominent in East Africa for over 30 years. In 1999 following major restructuring by the giant German chemical and pharmaceutical multinational, Hoechst East Africa was recalled.
Through a Managemenet Buy Out [MBO], HighChem East Africa Ltd acquired Hoechst’s entire business operations and inherited a wide portfolio of business agencies and partnerships. Further, in 2002 when BASF SE recalled their local office - BASF East Africa, this unit  was acquired and integrated into HighChem East Africa and later renamed HighChem Industrials Africa Ltd.
